Leopard simplifies cross platform networking by implementing many standards used by both worlds: Unix and Windows - that is the Apple version. First retail version of Leopard had many bugs not only networking related. Weeks after releasing Leopard Apple made first update public, and the networking bug was still there! First after many posts on Apple support forum about sharing problems with Windows, Apple commented that Samba works as it should on every mac and that the problem is on the other side. After second update many people reported that, it did fixed SMB issues on their macs but only in some special cases. With 10.5.2 you still can't connect to an SMB share that is totally public, no password. Hopefully with the third update Apple will help all of us with our problems, like having a Mac in Windows world!
